Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Adhian Gurus (the "Platform"), operated by Adhian Gurus ("we", "us"). By creating an account, registering as a tutor, parent or student, or booking a session, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. What Adhian Gurus is
Adhian Gurus is a marketplace that connects students and parents with independent tutors for online and in-person tutoring. We are not the employer of tutors and do not provide the tuition ourselves. Tutors are independent providers responsible for the sessions they deliver.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering. Students under 18 must use the Platform under the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
3. Trials, coins and payments
A parent or student may pay a trial fee (currently ₹99) to receive platform credit ("coins", where 1 coin ≈ ₹1) redeemable for a defined trial with a tutor of their choice. Fees, coin values and trial terms are shown at the point of purchase and may change for future purchases. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store full card details.
4. Founding Tutor Programme
For each city, the first 100 verified tutors to activate a profile are enrolled as "Founding Tutors". In exchange, Founding Tutors agree to deliver trial sessions without payment during the founding launch. Once a city's founding cohort is filled, standard platform terms — which may include commission and paid trials — apply to new sign-ups in that city. Your specific terms are shown to you before you activate your profile.
5. Founding Tutor commission guarantee
Adhian Gurus will never charge a commission, percentage, deduction or platform fee on any amount a student or parent pays a Founding Tutor for tuition, for the lifetime of that tutor's active account. This guarantee survives any future amendment to these Terms, and may be modified only with the affected tutor's express written consent. Section 10 does not apply to this section.
Three limits apply, and they are the only ones:
(a) It is personal. The guarantee attaches to the individual tutor who earned it. It cannot be sold, assigned or transferred to another person or account.
(b) It requires an active account.An account is active while the profile is live and the tutor has accepted at least one trial request in the preceding twelve months. If an account lapses, we will give at least 30 days' written notice and a chance to reactivate before founding status is withdrawn.
(c) It covers commission, not every future service. Optional paid services we may offer in future — for example expedited payouts or enhanced background verification — are not commission and are not covered. We will not make any such service a condition of receiving students, appearing in search results, or being paid.
6. Tutor obligations
Tutors agree to provide accurate credentials, deliver sessions professionally, and comply with all applicable laws. We verify founding tutors before their profiles go live, but you are responsible for your own conduct and the accuracy of your profile.
7. Session monitoring
To support quality and safety, sessions may be monitored using automated (AI) analysis of session audio, with the consent collected at sign-up or booking. What is captured, how it is used, and how long it is retained are described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by circumventing fees where they apply, harassing other users, uploading unlawful content, or attempting to disrupt the service.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Platform is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes. To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the fees you paid to us in the three months before the claim.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. This section does not apply to Section 5. The Founding Tutor commission guarantee cannot be changed by an update to these Terms.
